SUMMER VACATION

9 Sep

wow.. haven’t been writing here for a really long time and I hope nobody had thought anything bad since my last post was regarding my car accident. LOL..anyway, few things over the summer.

1. I quit my day/main job at the end of July. I used to work in finance and it was just B-O-R-I-N-G! but the pay was good. =)

2. Took my baby dog home back to California to meet the other 2 dogs. He was afraid of flying first, but got used to it. Didn’t bark at all!!! I was so worried he would make noises in the cabin.

3. WENT TO HAWAII!!!! BEST BEST BEST trip ever~~ Went there with friends; we stayed at the new 5-star Trump hotel in Waikiki, had an awesome studio room and ocean view! The beach was OK though. I’m allergic to seawater, so again, I was covered with hives and tried to scratch my skin off. (this was the worst part). Then we headed to the Big Island!!! This is by far my favorite island (probably because I didn’t go to Kuai, because everyone told me that was the best). We flew in from the Hilo side and drove all the way to Kona along the Hamakua coast. Visited the Akaka fall and Waipio valley along the way. And I have decided that I wanna live somewhere near Honokaa when I get old. The coast is just beautifullllllll~~~~~ When we got to the Kona side, it was just BROWN; nothing but volcano rocks. But fortunately we stayed at the Kona Village Resort, and had an amazing experience there! Loved our Hale (hut) and the whole looks/feel to the resort. People were sooo friendly!!! We also paid to see the Luau there – it’s $100/person, but it’s worth it!!! The show was great and no wonder it’s claimed to be the best on the island. All in all the Kona Village stay was expensive but well worth it! Then we flew from Kona to Maui on this tiny 9-seated plane. Had I known that was gonna be our plane, I wouldn’t have booked this Mokulele airline!! I’m afraid of flying normally and this 9-seat plane just made the ride the worst. It was “dropping” like crazy when we were about to get to Maui. Oh I never wanna get on that plane again~~(>_<) Ok, Maui was nice~ beach was the best, soft sand and calm water. The view was nice too but our hotel people were snobby. Friendliness wise, I rate Big Island #1!!! lol On the plane from Maui to Oahu, I sat next to a band member of this local Big Island band called Hi-Town- they perform Hawaiin Raggae music! give it a try and google them. Back in Oahu we just shopped until we went broke I guess. Loved that store called 88Tees. We went there 2x in a day just to dig for the vintage clothes they have. Then we had massage at this local place, forgot the name of the place but I would definitely go back if I visit Waikiki again. In general my Hawaii trip was the best best vacation so far and I have photos up on the P&T Facebook!! go seee~~!!

His name is Waipio! met him in Honokaa

first car accident = destroyed beemer.. (>_<)

8 Jun

WORST WEEKEND EVER! I thought carrying a bed frame for 5 blocks then moving by subway (since the car I rented was too small!) and having 100+ people stare at you on the way was bad.. what’s worse is that I destroyed someone’s brand new 2010 BMW 535i on Sunday…. sigh~ and having to pay $500 for damage. Thank god insurance pays the rest!

It was a dumb car accident and I’ve heard people telling (comforting) me that everyone would have one stupid-kid accident in their life. Well there, I’ve just had my first one. And it wasn’t with a tree or “regular” car, instead it just had to be a brand new BMW! I felt almost no impact on my car and was shocked to see how badly I’ve destroyed the other since I’d rented a pickup truck that day.  Luckily no one was injured.  At first I thought the guy would take out a gun and shoot me (since he was bald, muscular and looked gangster to me).  He was pissed.. (as anyone would be). But later he calmed down and became very polite (o_O).  We exchanged phone number and even the next day when he called he was still very polite.  WOW.. I’m thinking to myself, perhaps I wanna send him a hallmark card or a POOCHI & TOUTOU gift card (if he had a dog).

Doggie Music Album.. (o_O)

2 Jun

So people think we are crazy selling dog clothes… but this is what I came across on the net today.  Doggie music band!!! They’ve already released an album! (see back cover below) It’s a Taiwanese doggie band called “Doggie Trio”– members consist of WangWang (7, Maltese), Candy (12, Maltese) and Mitsu (10, Shih Tzu).

Quick Hangover Cure

28 May

If you really need to go to work instead of sleeping in (in my case, i already took so many personal days off..lol),  then here’s a simple way to get over a severe hangover:

GATORADE + MOZART

If you’ve googled “Hangover Recovery”, you will get ASKMEN.com or eHow.com articles telling you to STAY HOME, SLEEP, WATER, JUICE, YOGURT, MOVIES, MUSIC  etc etc…. when in some cases, you just have to go to work the next day. So grab a Gatorade from the deli at the corner, it’s about $2-3 and it works a lot faster than bottles of water/expensive juice. It’s probably the quickest way to rehydrate yourself. Then when you get to the office, open your Outlook first as usual but afterward put on your headphones, visit Youtube.com and google “Mozart Sonata”.  Mozart has been a good friend ever since my years in highschool, listening before the SATs exam, then college finals, now after hangovers… perhaps it could be my menopause cure in the future. =)

Though results are not guaranteed, I still highly recommend you try it at least once. It could just be the easiest way for you to recovery from a hangover!

Back on track…

20 May

Been so busy for the past one and half month! tax season and every corporate office was probably like hell (>_<). But anyway guys, POOCHI & TOUTOU is now back on track with pages of new items added!!! Check http://shop.poochitoutou.com/new.html now!

On the other hand, I came cross this article on Yahoo: 10 Things We Can’t Live Without (10 new American essentials). And guess what, pets are on the list! That’s right, among tvs, music, computers and wifi we can’t live without, we also need our pets!

Fido sits at the table these days. Maybe even at the head of the table. While Americans have cut spending on themselves, spending on pet food, supplies, grooming, vet care and clothing (clothing?) has been rising uninterrupted by about 5 percent per year. Industry officials attribute this to the “humanization” of pets, which in turn has led many pet owners to close the “quality of life gap” between their animals and themselves. The iWoof [iBone!!!]can’t be far behind.”  Check out our iBone shirt: http://shop.poochitoutou.com/tops/ibone-sweatshirt-hoodie.html !

DATE NIGHT Premiere!!

7 Apr

Attended the NY premiere of the Date Night and after party yesterday!  Besides seeing Steve Carell and Tina Fey, I also saw HUGH JACKMAN! (so hooott) Ben Stiller, Alec Baldwin, Rachel Ray, Gossip Girl Leighton Meester, Serena Williams, Director Shawn Levy (very charming man and surprising young looking for his age!), Jets’ Sanchez and Regis from Millionaire (who sat 2 rows behind us XD) and the list goes on.. The movie itself was good, so funny! there were points when I was literally tearing from laughter! I’d say it was an adult version of Pineapple Express. Oh and James Franco and Mark Wahlberg were also in the movie but didn’t appear at the premiere. =(  The after party was held at the Aureole on 42nd st. near Time Sq. Ironically I had just passed there the day before telling my friend I really wanted to eat there, without knowing the after party was going to be held there the next day! The pasta and beef were really good!! but chicken was blah! (>_<) Desserts OK.. anyway it was an awesome experience!!!!
